Sample Visit Plan if things are going well:
- if there any issues with consistent painful latch, low milk supply, slow weight gain, etc. we will change the plan to fit your needs!
Visit 1 (3-4 days old):
We will work through latch and positioning to accommodate YOUR healing, make sure milk transition is on track, see how much milk baby is getting at the breast through a weighted feed, check baby's weight and review newborn care and create a plan for the next few days.
Visit 2 (7-10 days old):
We will reassess latch and troubleshoot any issues, assess: baby's milk transfer, oral function and overall body tension, check baby's weight, discuss a normal milk supply, engorgement, red flags to keep an eye out for and a plan for the next week.
Visit 3 (2-3 weeks old):
We will reassess latch and troubleshoot any issues, assess: baby's milk transfer, oral function and overall body tension, check baby's weight, pumping/bottle introduction guidance, reassess plan for the next 2 weeks
Visit 4 (4-6 weeks old):
Continue to asses baby's weight, milk transfer, oral function, body tension and bottle skills. Check in with pumping and create a back to work plan in needed.
